We were fortunate to be able to work with the Flynn’s again to transform their smaller, well used kitchen into the much larger kitchen you see in the images below.  In order to make this drastic transformation, we had to move the entry door from the garage, which had formerly led into a laundry and mud room before leading into the kitchen area.  We then moved the laundry facility into the closet in the master bedroom.  This allowed us to remove the wall separating the kitchen from the laundry and mud room and gain about a hundred square feet of space for the kitchen.  The new garage entry door location also made for a much better floor plan, eliminating any traffic through the primary work area in the kitchen.  We upgraded from sheet vinyl flooring to natural ash hardwood flooring and added all new custom oak cabinets, doubling the storage space of the previous kitchen.  The lighting was substantially upgraded from a couple of flush-mounted fixtures to a plethora of recessed and under-cabinet lighting as well as a couple of pendant lights over the peninsula (not pictured).  The tile backsplash perfectly balances the paint selections with the Zodiaq© countertop and accents the new stainless appliances well.  The added prep sink allows for multiple cooks to work within their own work triangles, great for holiday baking gatherings!
